THE PAGE UP FOR THOSE INTERESTED AND WE WILL EVENTAULLY GET
BACK INTO THE QUAIL, I MISS THEM,
THANKS FOR LOOKING

Button Quail are the smallest quail.
"Cute As A Button"

We totally didn't think these would hatch! They were past the date we had
calculated for them but, July 28th & 29th, 14 button quail have hatched!

Well its been nearly 5 weeks now, the quail are suposed to be full grown and are
99% fully feathered! I finally got some pictures uploaded and resized.
I am working on learning the different colors, this is why some are numbered.
Here is the link to my Fotki for more pictures!

September 30th we went to meet Don the owner of yahoo group
Button Quail USA, we brought 11 of our 12 buttons to him to tell me WHAT colors they were LOL
after a short visit I think I have a list of what colors I have and a good male female ratio!
We brought home 2 hens and a mess load of eggs. We hatched 29 chicks from the eggs!
We tried to get some new colors in the eggs, some that we did not already have. Sucess!
I am not sure what the colors are, I have not learned them all, by looking at them and naming them.
I am working on a cage for them for pairs and will be cutting back on my Button Quail flock
keeping only ones I want for pets, I will be taking it down to about 10 pairs.

Here is a table for most all of the Button Quail Colors.
Alot of people call them different colors, that are not listed below, they will call some,
one name when there real color is something else, its an honest mistake of someone who
wasnt educated about it correctly.
At some point I will beable to provide a link to a site where there will be visual colored
birds to look at with there color name near by.
